Although Hungary is not much bigger than Maine, since it is located in eastern Central Europe it has a huge variety in terms of landscape and habitats, such as steppes, sandy areas, marshes, oxbow lakes, rivers and hill regions, all close to each other.
The range of birds possible to see and photograph here is fascinating, and landscapes will make you feel as if you travelled at least fifty years back in time. Beside various local wildflowers, dragonflies, moths and butterflies, mammals will be present in good numbers in some areas. There is a great mixture of wildlife here in the very heart of Europe.
During our photography sessions Rollers, Bee-eaters, Hoopoes, Little Owls and Red-footed Falcons will be just a few of the long list of possibilities.
Our unique base, the Kondor EcoLodge, is at the heart of the Kiskunság National Park. Traditional thatched-roofed houses, home-made meals, wine cellar and tranquil forest and gardens full of wonderful species, makes Kondor EcoLodge a perfect place for a great wildlife vacation.
