I am doing my spring cleaning and getting stuff ready for a big yard sale (scheduled for June 20 if anyone is interested). As I carried trash outside this morning “my” Cooper’s Hawk flew past.

I knew he was in the area regularly. I have had glimpses of him recently — mostly low fly-bys. The other day I went out the front door and saw a flash of gray… and found a recently killed female Northern Cardinal.
The photo above was taken a couple years ago… not today. But as soon as I get the insurance check for my equipment replacement, I hope he returns to allow more photos of himself!

    Thanks Dale-

I will replace my Canon 40D with the newer 50D and get the exact same lens, the Sigma 50-500 EX as I love the quality and range. Although it is heavy, it makes a great all-around travel lens for nature photography.
