New stuff… long trip…
May 8, 2009 | by Kevin Loughlin
I got my new replacement equipment yesterday! My Canon 40D was upgraded with a 50D body, but I got the same, wonderful, Sigma 50-500 EX lens. I love this lens with its excellent range — it is perfect for the traveling wildlife photographer. The image of the Scilla at left was taken with the new set-up in my backyard.
I also bought a new gadget… a PhotoTrackr Lite. Along with the software, this little gadget is supposed to mark each of my images with the proper GPS coordinates and then link them on web galleries to Google Earth. I’ll let you know what I think of it!
I am now off to Ohio! It’s a long, 9 hour drive, but I am looking forward to visiting Kim and Kenn Kaufman at the Black Swamp Bird Observatory and joining the fun for the International Migratory Bird Day celebration. I will have a small table offering our tour brochures. If you are in the area, please stop on by!
