Shohola Falls

I have never before seen so much water coming over Shohola Falls! It was tremendous, however, difficult to find the vantage points we seek for our photos. The spray from the rushing water came toward us, coating our lenses.

From the ledge we normally begin our class, we were rained upon by the water seeping through the ground and over the cliff face. Equipment was getting as wet as we were ourselves. The above two images were taken with my new Panasonic DMC-TS3 waterproof P&S; camera I purchased for snorkeling.

The above and below shots were taken by participant, Jane Ruffin. They make a nice comparison to the amount of water flowing over the falls this Spring verses during our 2010 Autumn workshop she also attended.

The falls washed over many of our preferred viewpoints and we had to use extra caution as we enjoyed the falls this year!

Always different, these falls offer many options throughout the year which is why we have folks return again and again to our fun weekend workshops!
