The trip I took to Kenya and Tanzania, in Feb 2025, was my first experience using Wildside Nature Tours. The outcome was simply spectacular. Accommodations exceeded expectations. Food and drink were plentiful and satisfying. Our driver, Abraham, has strong connections to the community and is on excellent terms with his fellow drivers. Thus he was able to track down not only lions, leopards and cheetahs, but genets, two rhinos, two servals and the elusive caracal! Our guide, Adrian, is a patient and kind leader ( even after being asked " what kind of bird is that again?", for the 15th time ). He has excellent photography skills and helped all of us improve our own picture-taking abilities. Adrian has great depth of knowledge of the ever changing East African ecosystem. His love of the land and of the people shine through every day of the tour. He is highly proficient in identifying birds from a great distance; can discern a species in and out of breeding plumage; and can identity creatures by their calls. Adrian knows more than birds, though. He is well versed in native butterflies, insects, reptiles and all mammals great and small. The trip was further enhanced by his interesting stories and tidbits about local culture, history and animal behaviors. The days flew by too fast. It was a joyful two weeks to spend with a fun group of fellow travelers and with a leader who clearly loves and respects his subject matter. I highly recommend this adventure to be added to anyone's bucket list.
