Dr. Martin Perrow
About Dr. Martin Perrow
Martin has been a professional ecologist, leading one of the first and foremost ecological consultancies in the UK, for 30 years. His company provides expert ecological services and solutions, whilst promoting biodiversity through the conservation and restoration of habitats and species as an integral part of the quest for sustainable development. On a personal level, Martin remains committed to conservation and a green future for our planet. Alongside that, his personal interests and specialisms are a somewhat eclectic mix ranging from seabirds and wind farms to lakes and fish and formerly small mammals, and just about everything in between. Martin is perhaps best known for innovative research on seabirds, especially terns, and the production of several seminal books including the Handbook of Ecological Restoration in two volumes, and Wildlife and Wind Farms: Conflicts and Solutions in four volumes and the production of more than 100 scientific papers, reports, articles and book chapters. He has travelled widely especially to remote localities offshore and including as a tour leader (preferentially with his long-standing buddy Adrian Binns) seeking all manner of wildlife, invariably with a camera. But if from the above you’re expecting a reserved academic sort of guy, then prepare to be disappointed…..All that fits is the (now) grey hair.
