Update… COVID-19
Apr 6, 2020 | by Kevin Loughlin
This month marks the 27th anniversary of my life-changing adventure to Belize. I returned home with such a desire to share my experience, that I founded Wildside Nature Tours.
In those 27 years, I have never experienced anything like this pandemic. This past month has been surreal… stressful… scary… hopeful… often all at the same time. This is truly uncharted territory for all of us. Most importantly, is that all members of the Wildside family — participants and leaders included — returned home safely as borders were closing around the world due to COVID-19.
We continue to rearrange schedules to accommodate those with upcoming trips that have been impacted by the pandemic. Many have been rescheduled, while others need a bit more time to sort through the options. It is a slow process with many hours on hold, or days awaiting an email response, while our partners across the globe grapple with the same issues. We truly appreciate the patience and understanding of everyone involved during this unprecedented situation.
We consider you to be a valuable member of the Wildside family… one that includes our staff, our guides, our partners, our participants, and our friends around the world. Strong families come together during the good times, and take care of each other during the bad.
During these challenging times, our original mission prevails: Wildside offers birding tours and photo workshops that adhere to strong ethical standards, while minimizing our footprint on the environment, and maximizing our economic impact on local communities. We are proud to have been doing this for the past 27 years, and look forward to many more adventures in the years to come.
In the meantime, please stay safe, be well, follow the guidelines, and dream of colorful birds, incredible scenery and sharing time with friends and family … face to face!
