Hawkaholics……Red-tailed Hawk UStream
Apr 21, 2010 | by Adrian Binns
I know that it is hard to top the popularity of Molly and McGee, the Barn Owls whose UStream video I mentioned March 28, who are in the process of raising four youngsters. But another interesting UStream shows extraordinary footage, taken from above, of Red-tailed Hawks that have been nesting at the Franklin Institute in downtown Philadelphia.
They have been incubating three eggs for just over a month and today I can tell you that two of the eggs have hatched, and the small white downy chicks are visible when the adult stands up. Food will be bought in daily and it will be very exciting to see the adults feed them. The nestlings will grow quickly and at about 6 weeks old they will begin to learn to fly.
You can follow along and see everything as it happens live
