Floatin’ down the Snake River
A float trip down the Snake River is a must when visiting Jackson Hole. The water level was a bit higher than usual, so getting great wildlife images was a definite challenge! So why not try some adventure photography… documenting the trip itself.
Stunning scenery zips past as we float…
Some images lend well to black-and-white…
Always keep an eye on the horizon. For this image I actually held the camera just above the water using my Sigma 10-20 @ 10mm.
This image, looking back from where we came, I did the same thing.
Bald Eagle capture with my Sigma 50-500mm @ about 400mm.

Even though this eagle was perched, it sped past as we drifted quickly on the river. A few quick ‘grab shots’ produced this sharp image.

Same eagle, same lens…

While flying overhead, the eagle was a little bit easier to photograph. Just a little bit!

Canada Goose bathing.

This bathing goose was difficult to capture as it bathed, only because of our speed. But again, shoot a series and keep your fingers crossed!

Driving back to our lodge after the float trip, we came across a plump beaver alongside the road. It made for some nice images in the waning light.
