| Adelaide’s Warbler |
Our fourth day began with a quick visit to the La Parguera water treatment plant to get close views of White-cheeked Pintail before heading off to Guanica State Forest. This dry forest in southern Puerto Rico offers great birding along the main trail leading off the parking area. Here we had stunning views of the endemic Adelaide’s Warbler and Puerto Rican Bullfinch.

A very cooperative Puerto Rican Flycatcher joined the mix while a Lizard Cuckoo chose to stay somewhat hidden, offering only brief glimpses.

Everyone’s favorite, Puerto Rican Todies offered more stunning views and photo opportunities.

| Florida Duskywing |
A handful of butterfly species were seen… Florida Duskywing, Florida White, Florida Purplewing, Great Southern White, Zebra Heliconia and Pale Cracker.

After departing Guanica we headed north east to the Plain Pigeon location near Comerio. We found one Plain Pigeon fairly quickly after arrival. As we waited for more views an American Kestrel flew into the tree above us and devoured a small lizard!
