Prothonotary Warbler

I am currently on my way to Wyoming to teach a nature photography workshop in the Grand Tetons.

Day 1 was spent driving 9 hours, from Yardley to northwest Ohio. Day 2 began with a walk on a very different boardwalk at Magee Marsh. After two hours with no humans (but a good number of birds) I was greeted by two smiling faces of local birders.

The bird of the morning was a very cooperative and photogenic Prothonotary Warbler! I assume this is the same guy that was there during the Biggest Week, in the same spot singing his heart out!

Ever see Prothonotary Warbler tonsils?
Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
Later in the day was a visit to Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore north of Gary, IN. The day was cloudy and windy and certainly a bit chilly (48 degrees), but it was still a beautiful spot to take in.
Ring-billed Gull

Ring-billed Gulls were the standard issue for the location and offered some fun flight opportunities as they kited in the breeze!
