PA YOUNG BIRDERS CAPE MAY FIELD TRIP ***NOTE correct Date, Meeting Location and Time below***

Kevin is currently away in Montana on a Photography Tour. His return flight schedule has been changed and unfortunately he will not be able to lead this weekend’s PA Young Birders field trip to Cape May. In his place, Debbie Beer has agreed to lead the field trip to Cape May on SATURDAY (not Sunday). NOTE correct date, meeting location and time below.

DATE : SATURDAY JULY 18
MEET AT: John Heinz NWR “Tinicum”, 8601 Lindbergh Blvd, Phila PA
TIME: 7:45AM to arrange car pooling, for DEPARTURE PROMPTLY at 8AM

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and may not be “left in the care of the group.”

In this full day outing, we will bird the Delaware Bayshore and Cape May area, looking for terns, gulls, piping plover, seaside sparrow, marsh wren, night-herons, egrets, and shorebirds. It is approximately an hour and a half drive to our first stop. We plan on having a picnic lunch at Cape May Point State Park. Please bring Lunch, Snack & Water with you. You may also want to bring bug spray and sunscreen and a hat. We expect to be back at Tinicum approximately 5PM. Please bring field guide and binoculars if you have them. There are a limited number of spare binoculars that can be shared. We will have 2 spotting scopes for the group.
