Welcome Emilie Talpin to the Wildside Team
Feb 14, 2022 | by Lee Hoy
I first had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with Emilie Talpin during a Facebook Live macro photography discussion and contest for OM-D System and I selected her amazing image of a lady bug with water drops as the contest winner [see image below]. Her water drop photography is amazing and you can see more of it by following her on Facebook and Instagram. Emilie contacted me a few months later asking me to mentor her in an Olympus program called “Break Free with Olympus.” Emilie and I had weekly online mentoring sessions for quite a while and she became a dear friend through this process. Emilie has an infectious smile, attitude, personality and drive to do well! It was a pleasure getting to know her and enjoy the results of her hard work on her photography and videos. You can enjoy the results of her final project on the Break Free with Olympus Experience here: Emilie Talpin – Final Project or go to the Break Free Program page, scroll down and you can see all of her blog entries. To demonstrate just how excellent her work was, Emilie was one of two participants who were invited to become featured Olympus pros!
Emilie’s first Wildside Workshop will be co-leading with me to Glacier National Park in June 2022 and July 2023. Emilie spent a good part of last summer exploring Glacier National Park and is no stranger to the beauty and wildlife of the region. She is currently working to develop an offering of Wildside Weekender Workshops, these are short workshops in areas local to her home in the northeast where the time and financial investment is lower but the reward is just as high as our longer workshops! Watch for macro, water drop, landscape and wildlife offerings in her neck of the woods. We are also going to develop a New Hampshire Photography Workshop that we hope to offer in the summer of 2023!
Emilie resides in Concord, New Hampshire with her wife and teaches at Saint Anselm College when she isn’t out scouring for wildlife, landscape, and macro images at her favorite wetland near home. Click here to check out Emilie’s official Wildside Team Member page!
