Sharing Exceptional Experiences with Thousands Since 1993

Since 1993, Wildside Nature Tours has been offering quality worldwide wildlife adventures. Our dedicated, enthusiastic leaders are as excited about your trip as you! We have done extensive ‘hands on’ research into many different areas of the regions we visit, in order to offer you the best opportunity and safest experience for birding, photography and nature exploration.

We are often asked, “What sets Wildside apart from other tour companies?” Simple… it’s our leadership and our loyalty. Members of the Wildside team are loyal to each other and to our clients. We don’t have the regular turnover of guides that other companies experience.

We are often asked, “What sets Wildside apart from other tour companies?” Simple… it’s our leadership and our loyalty. Members of the Wildside team are loyal to each other as well as to our clients. We don’t have the regular turnover of guides that other companies experience. Wildside’s first full time guide, Glenn Crawford joined us in 1994 and he is still guiding all of our Central American birding tours to this day. Edison Buenaño has been part of the Wildside team since 2001. Adrian Binns brought all of his tours from another company over to Wildside in 2006. Gabriel Lugo, our Caribbean specialist, joined Wildside in 2011. This is just a small example of our team and our camaraderie. To get to know all our team members, visit our Team Page.

Another reason is that our groups are small, typically about 6 – 8 people. Group size varies from trip to trip—our Galápagos tour maximum is just 14 while the Alaska cruise is only 6. Most larger groups have two leaders to keep the client to guide ratio low. Expect a truly personal experience with minimum impact on our environment!

We choose our accommodation stay close to the wildlife. We try to use locally owned and operated “green” accommodations wherever possible, many of which are part of environmental organizations or sanctuaries.

CONSERVATION & EDUCATION

Wildside supports many local educational and conservation efforts worldwide, financially or otherwise. We encourage participants to bring a small donation of educational supplies, binoculars or field guides to be given to schools, novice guides and sanctuaries, as appropriate.

KIDS IN NATURE

Our leaders created the PA Young Birders Club because we enjoy working with children. Many Wildside trips are appropriate for kids age 12 and older with an interest in nature, learning and new experiences. Parents must be responsible for their child’s behavior at all times, with no group disruptions.
